In this contribution from the International Drug Policy Consortium (IDPC)1 wishes to provide information to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) with regards to the Human Rights Council resolution 42/11, ‘Human rights in the administration of justice, including juvenile justice’, in an effort to feed into the upcoming OHCHR analytical report on human rights in the administration of justice, in particular on current and emerging challenges in the protection of persons deprived of their liberty, including judicial oversight. This contribution includes information about the situation of women incarcerated in Mexico, provided by our member organisation EQUIS Justicia para las Mujeres,2 and Colombia provided by our member organisation Corporacion Humanas Colombia.3 The information below is provided in Spanish, but an informal English translation may be provided if needed – please contact us at mnougier@idpc.net.
